The IBRU Independent Brewery Definition

1. Small - Annual production from brewery or subsidiaries totalling less than 1.8m HL per year.

2. Independent - Less than 25 percent of the brewing company is owned or controlled (or equivalent economic interest) by a beverage alcohol industry member that is not itself a brewer.

3. Brewer - Has a brewing license in the UK.
